Evolve....

The times have changed....
Post-nuclear, and apocalyptic, the cities rebuilding, and the archives being shielded, for if the archives were lost, who would we turn to for knowledge????
The technical look of the 'transforming' architecture, merging the old with the rugged, and new post-nuclear scraps of material. But in a new and less rustic way. something cleaner.

Card Models

Sketchup Models

MODEL 1

This first sketchup model was the first idea i came up with. The ideas that i was playing with were, lighting to the basement floor which is the archives. How light travels down is through the giant void that pokes out through the ceiling, which also has a lift contained within it. This 'tower of light' was also the tower through which my character could reflect.

The position and the angel of the viod came about because i wanted the archive vault to be slightly off centre and skewed from the above ground floor plan.

MODEL 2

This second model was an interpretation of what my character does when exposed to the outside world. Although he suffers from no mental illnesses, he has to put on a face of sorst that will allow him to interact with others. he will often sporadically change his thoughts and opinions to fit in.

The Record Keeper: Character Story.

The Archives, a vault of solace, a place to live in the past,

records, logs, journals, art, all deep within history.

and he is the keeper....
Atlan Novisisch. The Keeper of Records, at the house of records, stored deep below the foundations, away from prying eyes and the light of the sun, which would destroy what was left of civilisations past.

Away from the harshness of the sun that is. One beam of light penetrates the heavy musty air, and the darkness that is the archives. Mirrored from the floors above, the light has lost most of its harshness, and becomes the centre of the vault.

Many glances of history, and still there is information to be sought out, for every waking hour is spent delving, researching, and examining the contents of the vault. It is his thrill, his life, what he was born to be. Passed down from generation to generation, the role of the keeper, is sacred, holding the key to the deepest, darkest secrets of the world gone, through the pureness of heart and open mind, of Atlan’s descendants.

The records are kept for what purpose I hear you ask?

For the advancement of civilisation, to learn from the past, of the mistakes and the victories, and for the reference of others, for the self indulgent, the researchers, students, politicians, historians, even the lowest of low, they are for the whole community.

But sometimes he wonders what another job would be like, sure he enjoys the outside world, but he enjoys the solace of the deep, dark archives even more. The only thing he does not like, the claustrophobic feel, the chills he gets from feeling trapped. But what can he do.

Nothing. For who is he to change what centuries of others have endured before him.

Very few visitors venture below the foundations of the house, but many have become frequent above. Atlan’s closest friends, relatives, and visitors to the Vault of Archives.
